Uppsala

Uppsala Universitet

Uppsala University is one of Sweden’s largest universities with approximately 40.000 students.

he university has a strong tradition of biomedical research, a fact that becomes quite obvious when visiting Biomedicinska Centrumet (BMC). Here, research goes hand-in-hand with education which creates a special atmosphere. This is one of the main reasons for maintaining such good quality of the Biomedicine programme at Uppsala University. Especially two coursers are unique for Uppsala. One regards the discipline of experimental animals and the other exclusively deals with common diseases partially through a clinical perspective.

Since the university has established relationships with more than 400 universities all around the world, there are good possibilities for studying abroad at some time during the period of study.

However, going abroad doesn’t necessarily have to be the first choice since Uppsala is especially famous for its rich and well-known student life. As a student you can for an example take part in various activities offered by 13 different so-called nations that cover all from different sports and culture events to a vigorous nightlife.

Various student-related traditions will be apparent for the Uppsala student where “Valborg”, celebrated on April 30 each year, probably is the most prominent one.
The fact that Uppsala is the fourth biggest city of Sweden isn’t something that feels obvious since the city is more like a bigger “small town” rather than the opposite.

Uppsala’s biomedicine sounds lovely! I want to read more about Biomedicine in Uppsala and about the biomedicine students of Uppsala!
